Welcome to the Beta Theta Pi Leadership Development page. The majority of events hosted by the General Fraternity are coordinated by the  Leadership Development Department.

The Leadership Development Department of Beta Theta Pi is dedicated to:

  • Designing and implementing high quality educational programming that promotes consistent practice of the principles, obligations and values of Beta Theta Pi among collegiate members
  • Developing leaders of integrity who enable positive action, accountability and personal development among members of their chapters, Greek communities and the General Fraternity.

The Miller Nichols Chapter Presidents Leadership Academy

Presidents learn to become more effective leaders, develop personal officer goals and design a framework for chapter success. The curriculum also includes reviewing standards, self-governance and the role that leadership plays in achieving Beta’s purpose. (Click here) to learn more.

The Hugh E. Stephenson Jr. Leadership Summit

The award-winning Hugh E. Stephenson Jr. Leadership Summit provides an opportunity for all district chiefs, assistant district chiefs and regional directors to meet annually in Oxford to focus on the future of Beta Theta Pi. (Click here) to learn more.

BWC

The Donald W. English Beta Wilderness Challenge

This physically demanding experience allows participants to learn leadership, self-awareness, communication, an array of outdoor skills and, most importantly, how the Ritual applies to their daily lives. (Click here) to learn more.

Wooden Institute

The John and Nellie Wooden Institute for Men of Principle

In this pilgrimage home to the founding place of Beta, participants explore the challenge of integrity, share ideas, dissect Fraternity ritual, partake in challenging activities that focus on leadership skills, learn more about the history of Beta Theta Pi and reflect on the Fraternity’s heritage. The Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute

UIFI is a coeducational experience that focuses on personal and chapter values, leadership development, team building and the art of building community.
