Beta Theta Pi (ΒΘΠ) is a social collegiate fraternity founded in 1839 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, USA, where it is part of the Miami Triad which includes Phi Delta Theta and Sigma Chi. Beta, as it is nicknamed, was the first college fraternity to be founded west of the Allegheny Mountains. Beta Theta Pi has 120 active chapters and colonies in the United States and Canada.
Over 190,000 (2010) members have been initiated worldwide, with ~133,000 of those living. Beta Theta Pi currently has more than 5,500 undergraduate members.

Beta's Administrative Office, situated near the founding site of the Fraternity at Miami University, is located at 5134 Bonham Road, Oxford, Ohio 45056. It currently has 30 dedicated staff members who help support the Fraternity's mission, vision and goals. It also provides assistance and resources to it's 120 chapters. About Zeta Eta
The San Jose State chapter, the Zeta Eta of Beta Theta Pi, was colonized in 1991 and received it's charter on March 11, 1995. Since it's founding, the chapter has had over 200 members, received numerous awards and has been recognized as being the "Most Outstanding Fraternity" at San Jose State (2008-2009 and 2009-2010). About Men of Principle
In 2004, the chapter entered into a formal partnership with the General Fraternity, San Jose State University and the chapter advisory team to demonstrate it's commitment to live the values of Beta Theta Pi through the Men of Principle Initiative. To this day, the San Jose State chapter, the Zeta Eta of Beta Theta Pi, fully supports and advances the mission, vision and goals of the Men of Principle Initiative. To learn more (click here).
